Facilitator's Bio:

Ali Romanow is a multi-instrumentalist and music educator based on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Competent on a variety of instruments Ali also brings her captivating vocals, original writing and arranging to whatever project she is currently focused on. Ali spends her time in Courtenay BC, where she directs two FolkHarmonic Orchestras, FolkHarmonic Voices & teaches private music lessons.

Ukulele Starter Kit 

(Newcomer, Beginner)

(younger kids welcome to join with accompanying adult)

Requisites — Wanting to learn

So… you want to play ukulele? Then, this class is just for you. We will learn all the basics to start having fun with our new instrument. You will learn how to hold it, the name of the ukulele parts, the basics for strumming, and a couple fun songs.

Ukulele Tool Kit

Beginner Ukulele

Requisites — Starter Kit or some previous experience playing

If you know a couple chords, can strum a couple songs but want to get more confident and build up your skills this is the place for you. We’ll do lots of playing and take the time to practice basic strumming patterns, chord switches and jam session survival techniques so you will always have them in your tool kit.

We’ll dive into the timeless catalogue of Beatles tunes that we all know and love. You’ll get lots of time to play and sing through the classics and challenge yourself with the more complicated progressions.

Ukulele Jam Night!

Absolute Beginner +

7:00pm — 8:30pm

Ages 18+

This is an adult’s only absolute beginner class. (More experienced folks are welcome to join in too!) I'll supply the Ukes and we will strum, and sing, and laugh our way through campfire song books and generally have a good time. No experience necessary, all instruments provided. (Location: Art Swanson’s in Mitchel Bay)
